
Wolf was born in Berlin, Germany and grew up in Toronto, Ontario. In 1965, while in high school, he started what would eventually become a forty-four year career with the army in both the reserve force and the regular force by enrolling as a gunner with the 7th Toronto Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery. In 1969 he transfered to the regular force serving tours with the 2nd and 3rd Regiments, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery and 26th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery. In 1982 he started a second career as a civil litigation lawyer and returned to the reserve force first as an infantry company commander and subsequently with the Office of the Judge Advocate General where, as a Colonel, he was appointed Senior Reserve Force Legal Advisor for the Canadian Forces. He is a life bencher with the Law Society of Manitoba, was a hearing officer with the Manitoba Human Rights Commission and was appointed a Queen’s Counsel. Wolf is now retired and has become an author when not dabbling with his model railroad. He and his wife Kathy make their home in southwestern Ontario.
