
GORD CULLEN, a 28-year veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, was born in St James Assiniboia Manitoba, but spent much of his childhood in Whitehorse Yukon. He began his career as a soldier with the 1st Battalion the Royal Canadian Regiment with postings to the Lake Superior Scottish Regiment, 3rd Battalion the Royal Canadian Regiment and CANSOFCOM. His deployments include two tours to Bosnia, a tour in Kosovo, three tours in Afghanistan and a short deployment to Poland. Gord’s employment with Snipers started as a part of the Sniper Group deployed with 1 RCR in Kosovo but culminated as the Battle Group Master Sniper for Task Force 3-06 and Task Force 1-10 in Afghanistan.
He concluded his military career as Sniper Program Manager for one of the CANSOFCOM units, where he helped shape their Sniper program and enhance their capability. Gord has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for action during combat in Kandahar the Commander CEFCOM Commendation for action during combat in Kandahar and the Commander in Chief Commendation as part of the 1 RCR Battle Group during Operation MEDUSA.
Following his retirement from the Canadian Forces, Gord continues to serve the Canadian Armed Forces from the private sector. Gord remains passionate about Canadian Snipers and supporting their continued success as a board member with the Canadian Sniper Association. He continues to reside in the Ottawa Valley with his family.
