John Thompson

Born to an RCAF family and largely raised in Ottawa, John Thompson spent 13 years in the Canadian Army (mostly with the Queen’s York Rangers), and over 30 years with defence and security-related research institutes. Decades of predilection for adventure now means he lives quietly in Alberta and studies the behaviours of Magpies, Jack Rabbits and Coyotes.

He is the author of “Spirit over Steel: A Chronology of the Second World War,” “The Felicity Files” and several short stories.

His book Tracks and Trenches is available now.
