
Sean E. Livingston is a naval historian, author, reserve officer, and teacher. His first book, “Oakville’s Flower: The History of HMCS Oakville” (2014), documents the story of a Second World War Canadian Corvette named after the Town of Oakville. In 2016, he helped to create a memorial to HMCS Oakville in Tannery Park, and in 2022, an exhibit at Queen Ellizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre. In 2024, his work became a permanent display at Oakville Town Hall. He is also the co-founder of the Canadian Naval Tribute Project, a memorial that recognizes the historical contributions of unsung naval heroes in Canada. Sean is featured in “Service in the Cause of Humanity” (2024), a book documenting the 1,394 people around the world who, since 1874, have received the Life Saving Medal of the Order of St. John. He was inducted as a life member in the Gallantry Medalist League and is the recipient of numerous awards for his historical contributions to Canadian history.
